MIURA GOLF NAMES INDUSTRY VETERAN
ADAM BARR COMPANY PRESIDENT
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -Golf industry veteran Adam Barr was Monday named the new president of Miura Golf.
Katsuhiro Miura has been making the world's highest-quality forged irons, wedges and putters, plus innovative woods and hybrids, for more than 50 years. Barr's mandate is to lead Miura Golf's global expansion using his golf industry experience, relationships, and communications expertise, as well as the business skills he developed during his career as a lawyer.
Barr, a 49-year-old native of Pittsburgh and resident of Orlando, has worked in the golf industry since 1993. He began as a freelance writer, then joined GOLFWEEK magazine, and eventually became an on-air reporter at The Golf Channel. Prior to his golf journalism career Barr was a practicing trial lawyer in Pittsburgh and Chicago, and served as an editor of tax and legal publications (a detailed list of Barr's career accomplishments follows).
"Adam has had a unique career in the golf industry and has earned much respect and acclaim from his countless industry contacts. We're confident his knowledge and experience will help expand Miura Golf's exposure around the world," says Bill Holowaty, Executive Vice President, Product Strategies. "I can't tell you how excited we are to have Adam on the Miura Golf team."
Barr says there are two reasons why he finds it easy to talk enthusiastically about Mr. Miura and the Miura golf products.
"The first is that I'm still as enthusiastic about golf equipment as I was the first day I picked up a club," says Barr. "The second is that having watched Miura-san and his sons work, I have seen first-hand their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. There is simply no compromise. As Mr. Miura himself has said many times, perfection is not a goal to be attained, but rather a rewarding journey of commitment and effort. He lives and works by that philosophy on a daily basis.
"I have always believed that golf equipment is the most sophisticated equipment in sports," Barr adds. "I'm looking forward to showing the world what a select group of dedicated golfers already know-that Miura is the very peak of quality and satisfaction in golf equipment."
"Working with the Miura family is a remarkable opportunity, and I'm honored that it has come my way," says Barr. "For me, this is the culmination of more than 17 years of work in the golf equipment industry."
Miura Golf's products are sold at the finest retail shops, including custom-fitting facilities, around the world. The Miura brand is marketed globally exclusively by Miura Golf Inc. More information on Miura products can be found at www.miuragolf.com.

Miura hit the road in Japan with his new tour van, which features a replica of Miura's factory production line. From within the van, Mr. Miura and his sons Yoshitaka and Shinei are able to demonstrate the art of iron forging and the integral steps necessary in the forging process. Yoshitaka is the Director of the Finishing Division and younger brother Shinei is the Director of the Forging Division.
The tour van followed select Tour events, and continued to travel throughout Japan. In light of the success of Miura irons in the United States, plans for a North American version of the tour van are not far away. Our hope is that the van could appear at various events or tours throughout North America.
Mr. Miura would like to extend his sincere gratitude to all golfers who use his clubs.
He is truly humbled by the support.
